According to Heil, Peter Frampton’s girlfriend called the engineer one day asking for one of his original fiberglass talk boxes to give Frampton as a Christmas gift [source: Musician’s Friend].

The Frampton Comes Alive album was a seminal release in my life and so many of my chronological peers. My first exposure to the album was through the closed door of my older brother’s room in Newburgh NY. The voice box vocal effects from “Do you feel like we do”? was the champagne effervescence that bubbled through my pre-adolescent 8-year-old self and woke the gentle playful tiger within. The release coincided with my first realization of our connection with each other and the earth. Frampton’s youthul joy on stage is infectious for the inner youth inside.  Wake your tiger and listen along with me.
