Brew Doctor Uplift

News about changes to Uplift from Brew Doctor:

We’re reaching out from Brew Dr. Kombucha, connecting with customers who have been enjoying our Uplift kombucha.

As you may know, we are relaunching Uplift with a new look and feel, including some delicious new flavors.

Here’s the full scoop:

  • Uplift still features the same high-quality yerba mate, guayusa, and green tea you know and love. We blend these ingredients with a touch of organic fruit juice for a tasty and natural energizer.
  • Uplift comes in 3 delicious new flavors: Mango Passionfruit, Blueberry Raspberry, and Blood Orange Lemon.
  • Each shelf-stable 16oz can features 150mg of clean caffeine and gut-healthy probiotics. No refrigeration necessary!
  • 1% of all Uplift sales support local social justice organizations.

You can read more about Uplift here on our website. Check out the FAQs there, and feel free to shoot any other questions our way.

This also means that we are retiring our current Uplift flavors, original Caffeinated Uplift, and Tropical Uplift. It was a tough call and we’re sad to say goodbye, but excited to make room for new flavors, too! (As a note, the new Mango Passionfruit is very very similar to the old Tropical Uplift.)

Cheers,

Brew Dr. Team

My current Brew Doctor Kombucha Favorite is Brew Doctor Uplift. I started replacing coffee with one bottle of Brew Doctor Uplift tea each morning. The clarity buzz Uplift provides is very different than one derives from coffee. This is a very balanced beverage.

Introducing kombucha with 130mg of caffeine per bottle! This new blend features a heavy hit of yerba mate, guayusa, and green tea. A probiotic pick-me-up with a satisfying flavor reminiscent of traditional iced tea. Slightly sweet. Super smooth. Always uplifting.
Available in: 14oz bottles & kegs

Ingredients: Brewed tea (filtered water, yerba mate*, sencha green tea*, guayusa leaf*), cane sugar*, live kombucha culture (yeast, bacteria), guayusa extract*, citric acid. *Organic

Many of you know that I am an avid fan of Kombucha, especially local brews on tap. My sister in law introduced me to the pleasures and benefits of Kombucha home brewing and also gave me my first SCOBY, from her mother of all Scoby. (A kombucha culture is a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast (SCOBY), similar to mother of vinegar, containing one or more species each of bacteria and yeasts, which form a zoogleal mat known as a “mother.”).

While investigating online some of the benefits and side effects of Kombucha consumption I came across this very inspirational and unique Townshend Tea Company DBA Brew Doctor Kombucha success story.

Homebrewing is serious business and I would caution anyone considering this process to consult with reliable sources on and offline. While considering this home brewing enterprise, try one of Brew Doctor Kombucha beverages today. I can confidently attest that this Kombucha, both Clear Mind, and Superberry are great examples of how great Kombucha tastes while simultaneously providing important probiotics and nutrients the body needs. Brew Doctor Kombucha started life as a tea company and derives its unique flavors from the tea/herb combinations discovered during the Townshend Tea company genesis. Most Kombucha products on the market today derive flavor from juices added after the 1st tea fermentation process is complete. The juice performs a secondary fermentation process and added sweetness/flavor to the beverage. What sets Brew Doctor Kombucha apart is the tea company behind the Brew Doctor Kombucha label.  One additional concern for Kombucha consumers is the percent alcohol content in each bottle.   This is where Brew Doctor is ahead of the curve to ensure each bottle has less than 0.5 by volume, making it a non-alcoholic beverage.

Here is the ingredient list for Brew Doctor Clear Mind Kombucha:

Ingredients: Brewed tea (filtered water, organic green tea, organic rosemary, organic peppermint, organic sage, organic dandelion root), organic cane sugar, live kombucha culture (yeast, bacteria)

and Superberry:

Ingredients: Brewed tea (filtered water, organic oolong tea, organic elderberry, organic currant, organic hibiscus, organic blueberry, organic goji berry, organic strawberry, organic raspberry), organic cane sugar, live kombucha culture (yeast, bacteria)

Notice the plethora of organic ingredients in the Brew Doctor Kombucha beverage?  This is one of the many reasons I choose Brew Doctor over the myriad of competitors (see quality).

WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH ALCOHOL IN RAW KOMBUCHA?

Good question. A by-product of any type of fermentation is alcohol. Most people don’t know that kombucha made at home has an alcohol content as high as 3%! In order to make authentic raw kombucha that abides by alcohol rules, we utilize a method of non-heat distillation to remove alcohol without harming the live and active cultures that make raw kombucha so beneficial. Our in-house distillery called Townshend’s Distillery then makes unique and tasty spirits from the alcohol that we remove from Brew Dr. Kombucha, making it the world’s first and only tea distillery. Cool, right?! We have an on-site tasting room in Portland and our spirits products are distributed in Oregon, Washington, California, Oklahoma, and Illinois.

Oregon kombucha is taking the country by storm. Bend, Ore.-based Humm has a national footprint through Target and an approach built through conventional accounts. Meanwhile, instate rival Brew Dr. Kombucha has experienced powerful growth in the past two years, doubling its revenues in 2016, according to founder and CEO Matt Thomas.

BevNET’s Jeff Klineman interviewed Thomas at Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, Calif. and found a stirring profile of a company that is balancing growth across three divisions: its largest, a retail kombucha line, as well as on-premise gourmet tea houses and a new distilling operation that repurposes the alcohol generated from kombucha fermentation.

Brew Dr Kombucha

Great to have a case on hand for parties or your own personal consumption. I include a 14oz Brew Doctor kombucha every morning and the benefits are impactful! My digestive tract now craves the natural probiotics created by the Kombucha brewing/fermentation process. I am a true believer as the results were considerable and immediate. Kombucha is a great way to keep the gut micro-biome humming along. I am now fully reliant on the probiotic benefits: regularity, clarity of mind, easier digestion.
