Relationships are not easy. Work is required. Humor is an important element of a healthy relationship. Shared joy is an observed quality of any great romantic partnership. Patience and good listening skill is paramount.
Recently I had the pleasure of watching a series of YouTube videos featuring husband-and-wife duo fronted Tedeschi Trucks band. You may be familiar with this band? Most of us know Derek Trucks as the slide guitarist maestro from Southern Rock legendary band, Allman Brothers Band and nephew of infamous guitar hero, Butch Trucks. Susan Tedeschi was a well established blues guitarist singer/songwriter prior to joining forces with husband Derek in this large band endeavor.
What I find interesting about watching this husband-and-wife duo front this well fleshed out band was their mutual respect and telepathic, “sub lingual” conversation. Great musical partners often have these qualities. Watch closely and I think you’ll notice what I noticed, love and affection.
Healthy relationships have these aforementioned qualities.
