Prime Day 2021 brings us Gabi Wilson, AKA soul singer/multi-instrumentalist H.E.R.   A series of song performance vignettes filmed throughout the conference/room suites of Los Angeles, Dunbar Hotel. H.E.R.’s performance is set at Los Angeles’ Dunbar Hotel, which was in the 1930s and 1940s known as the hub of the city’s Black culture. The Oscar-winning singer performs songs from her new album, “Back of My Mind,” while reimagining what the hotel would look like if it was set in modern times.

H.E.R. is an artist to admire and enjoy now. Gabi, child prodigy, self taught musician not unlike her musical/romantic partner Skip Marley, is LA hipster scene ascendent RIGHT NOW.  A confident performer who wears her own style with chutzpah. No artist wears LA post modern style better than H.E.R.  No artist walks her beautiful petite frame through life, fame and love like H.E.R.

H.E.R. – The Next Legend In Music (A Gabi Wilson Mini-Doc)

H.E.R. is a rising talent in the music industry and I wanted to capture her brilliance in one video. There are still many people out there that don’t know her music. I made this video to spotlight her unique talents. For as such a widely talented artist, she is a perfect person to highlight as an Underrated Favorite. She has won multiple Grammy Awards and her last two albums were nominated for Best Album of The Year in the 2019 and 2020 Grammy Awards, but still many people haven’t heard about H.E.R. H.E.R. not only personifies talent in her music but also sophistication, creative ambition, and a high sense of ethos.

In early 2017, Marley signed to Island Records. Marley released his debut single under Island Records, “Lions”, in February 2017, which was produced by Ilya Salmanzadeh. “Lions” was later used in the Pepsi short film commercial, Live for Now. The two performed the song at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards on 12 February 2017 and also at the 2017 Brit Awards on 22 February. They also performed at the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards on 5 March. Lyrics

If you got it, it ain’t no question
No, it ain’t no room for guessing
No more than emotionally invested (no, no)
Showing you all my imperfections, oh
If I let you, you’ll take me for granted, yeah
If I’m worth more than you could manage, manage, yeah
Open with me, oh, we could be honest
Closer to me, oh, giving me solace
Promise that you won’t let me fall
Holding me tight
Loving me right
Giving me life
All night
You could be
(You could be)
Telling me lies
Making me cry
Wasting my time
The whole time
So just be
Careful what you take for granted, yeah
‘Cause with me you know you could do damage
You, you could do damage
You, you could do damage, yeah (uh)
Worried ’bout it, I’m putting pressure (you know)
You’ll only cut me if I let you
No, he ain’t the one, it’s just for pleasure
Either learn me or I’m a lesson gone, oh
If you want me don’t take me for granted, yeah, yeah
If I’m worth more than you could manage, baby
Oh, you’re falling for me
Oh, baby I caught it
Ooh, we could be whatever you wanna call it
Promise that you won’t let me fall, oh
Holding me tight
Loving me right
Giving me life
All night
You could be
Telling me lies
Making me cry
Wasting my time
The whole time
So just be
Careful what you take for granted, yeah
‘Cause with me you know you could do damage
You, you could do damage
You, you could do damage
Oh, you could do damage
No, you could do damage, yeah
Oh, you could do damage, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Oh, you could do damage on me

H.E.R. Vocal Range (B♭2-G6)

HER_Holding Fender

Evidence of H.E.R. vocal range on her self-titled debut studio album, she has a great tone and voice (better live) she tends to stay in her lower register and sing in her lower head voice, most of her 5th-octave belts I did not like, not even the ones here lol.
