Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II Headphone

This wireless Bluetooth model from Bose delivers very good sound quality and active noise reduction, combining elements of in-ear and earbud earphones. These earphones have an isolating design and an ambient sound monitoring feature; they will provide some muffling and electronic canceling of external noises and reduce the amount of sound that escapes from the earpieces. As such, they are best for those who want highly portable earphones that reduce the noise they hear from their surroundings or don’t want the sound from the earpieces to disturb others.

  1. This Derek and the Dominoes song, Keep on Growing, performed by the best live band in the business right now is righteous!  You know this song is in the deepest D. Trucks DNA.   This song is to my ear, the most Allman Brother’s with guest guitarist Eric Clapton, TTB track on any TTB recording.  This is the Saturday feature track on Durham Cool to get you off your ass, out of your head, or out of bed. Time to shake off some of the cabin fever-residue from shutdown 2020. When Derek Trucks toured with Eric Clapton, Derek asked Eric how to handle the solos.  Eric quickly deferred to Derek on this number in particular as he said, “You play my solo parts on Keep on Growing better than I could ever imagine.” Watch the band respond to Derek on this driving number -nice to hear him channel Eric Clapton and Duane at the same time-sans slide-free at last!  Caveat:   We love D.T.s Slide just nice to hear him shred sans slide once in a good while.

Here is an excerpt from the Duane Allman info website page alluding to the possibility of Duane Allman having guest guitared on this Eric Clapton solo part (see urban legend).

In the guestbook of this website some remarks are posted about the possibility of Duane Allman playing on this track:

. . . . . “I’d like to have “Keep on Growing” considered as an unconfirmed track. While I realize that the very thorough “Layla Sessions- 20th Anniversary Edition” indicates Duane not being present on the track, there is more here than meets the eye. There is a tripling of lead guitars on the track. While Clapton had used overdubs these are longer than on such tracks as “Politician”. Also, it was Duane’s nature to do things spontaneously. I could well envision him and Tom Dowd one evening going into Criteria Studios to take a listen to the track that the rest of the band had “finished” before Duane arrived for the album sessions. I could just see Tom and Duane saying “pretty cool” but then thinking “you know, I think we might be able to add even a little more punch here”. Outcomes the guitar, Tom opens up a track at the console, and Duane wails away (maybe even on a borrowed Stratocaster). They smoke a joint, take a listen to the remix, say that it’s even cooler than before, and head out into the Miami night. Oh, and Tom never documents the track placement, since this was typically the responsibility of his engineers, particularly Chuck Kirkpatrick. Likely, plausible, what do you think?” . . . . .

. . . . . “Well, dzobo said ‘Keep On Growing’ should be considered as an unconfirmed track and I agree that. I read Randy Poe’s fine work and know the consequences of that session. So telling on the recording of the ‘Keep On Growing’, Duane did not play at all does make sense. There’s no Gibson, I agree. I’ve been wondering why Eric Clapton was playing as Duane did. There’re some licks stamped Duane Allman. I thought Clapton had stolen the lick and over dubbed. Sadly enough I think Mr. Clapton has not had so much creative idea as Duane did, so that has been my mystery for 40 years. Then I finally found the answer here, I think”. . . .

I was laughing,
Playing in the streets, I was unknowing;
I didn’t know my fate.
The game of love, but never really showing;
I thought that love could wait.
I was a young man and sure to go astray.
You walked right into my life and told me love would find a way
To keep on growing, keep on growing, keep on growing.
I was standing,
Looking in the face of one who loved me,
Feeling so ashamed.
And praying, Lord, that she could understand me,
But I didn’t know her name.
She took my hand in hers and told me I was wrong.
She said you’re gonna be all right boy, oh just as long
As you keep on growing, keep on growing, keep on growing. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Someday baby, who knows where or when, Lord,
Just you wait and see.
We’ll be walking,
Together hand in hand, alone forever;
Woman just you and me.
‘Cause time is gonna change us, Lord, and I know it’s true;
Our love is gonna keep on growing and growing and it’s all we gotta do.
Keep on growing, keep on growing, keep on growing. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Keep on growing, keep on growing, keep on growing.
