“Unfolding Seeds: Invocations of Transformation”
ABOUT THE SHOW:
This summer, join Paperhand Puppet Intervention as they return with their communal storytelling, shadows, masks, and giant puppets.
Paperhand’s 21st big puppet show, “Unfolding Seeds: Invocations of Transformation,” is “rooted in gratitude, wonder, and thanksgiving. We are summoning our collective spirit to invoke care for the Earth, for its creatures, and its future.”
Shared hardships and tribulations suffered during this world pandemic have left many of us without hope for our future. Paperhand Co-founders/directors Jan Burger and Donovan Zimmerman have worked on this new show for several months. Earth and warriors for social and environmental justice, as long as some are ready to carry the torch of the excellent fire into a brighter future, we not only have hope but a plan for the future.
We have confirmed that Paperhand will be moving to Memorial Hall in Chapel Hill for the next two weekends. There will be no more performances at The Forest Theatre.
We will share complete information about safety protocols, capacity, and more VERY soon.
Below are the CONFIRMED dates and times that we will be at Memorial Hall so far.

Performance dates and times:
September 17 and 18: 7:00 pm shows
September 24 and 25: 7:00 pm shows
September 26: 3:00pm and 7:00pm shows
– Masks will be REQUIRED at Memorial Hall
– Capacity will be less than half with social distancing between parties

Some other big news from Paperhand is that they have just published a book chronicling twenty years of “artivism” (art + activism) in our community. The book, entitled “Paperhand: Puppet Interventions with Cardboard, Cloth, and Clay,” will be available at all the shows and can be ordered through the Paperhand website.
