Say what you will about this 1982 interview on Letterman and the relative states of being between the 3 participants yet stay long enough for the treat of watching Jerry and Bob perform an acoustic version of Deep Elam Blues.  I include, for comparison, another acoustic version with the entire Dead from 1981, a year earlier.

Be ye a Dead fan, Deadhead, or just a musical fan of their musicianship-enjoy the ride back in time.

Grateful Dead – Scarlet Begonias (Winterland 10/19/74) (Official Live Video)

“When we were working on selecting the Bonus Material for the Grateful Dead Movie DVD, we looked at Jerry’s long list of songs that he considered including in the original movie, and this Scarlet Begonias was one of them. It features some wonderful vocal improvisation by Donna Jean during the instrumental section at the end of the song.” – David Lemieux

Jerry Garcia – Grateful Dead Guitarist – Last Film Interview – April 28, 1995

Jerry Garcia was interviewed by the Silicon Valley Historical Association (also known as the Santa Clara Valley Historical Association) on April 28, 1995, at the Grateful Dead office in San Rafael, California. This is the full interview. Jerry discusses his early days before the founding of the Grateful Dead: mentors, living in an old Cadillac, LSD, the death of a friend that was the seminal point in becoming a full time musician. He passed away three months later on August 9, 1995. This was his last known filmed interview before his death.
