TTB - Aug. 24, 2019 Layla album live at LOCKN

,Tedeschi Trucks Band with w/Trey Anastasio and Doyle Bramhall II-     We publish this video on Durham Cool as it is a worthy effort by outstanding musicians and the always great band cohesion of TTB.  What is missing is Eric Clapton’s beautiful Layla era vocals.    This is no slight to Trey Anastasio who does a passable impersonation.   We love tributes more when they interpret the original in a unique way which is why it sounds great when Susan sings with Trey.   How can you go wrong with these musicians playing together on a Lockn  stage?  Yours truly reserves judgment for another day.    Nice to hear the guitarists working together and trading licks.  Both Derek and Trey up their game when playing together.  Doyle can hold his own -great blues guitarist.  Duane’s ghost was on the stage.   Derek is so damn great.   I Looked Away, Bell Bottom Blues, Keep On Growing, Nobody Knows You When You’re Down and Out, I Am Yours, Anyday, Key to the Highway, Tell the Truth, Why Does Love Got to Be So Sad?, Have You Ever Loved a Woman, Little Wing, It’s Too Late, Layla
