Enough is written about Yaeji, Korean-American d.j. and producer, that you should at least recognize the name if not already listen to her uniquely worthwhile tracks. We have New Yorker staff writer Hua Hsu to thank for this Pop Music article, entitled the Right Time featured in the April 6, 2020, New Yorker edition. Youtube is not a bad place to start, yet more often it is another touchstone source that brings us to Youtube.

Why do we cover Yaeji on Durham Cool? The answer is already known to you as well. Our mission statement, our entire rai·son d’ê·tre (1), is to bring you innovation where we discover it! If you must know, we love Yaeji as her essence is playful, light, bubbly, Korean pop imogi, innocence incarnate. Yaeji is the perfect backdrop for chillin’ in the club, on your own,  with friends-6 feet apart, or together (post epidemic) on your favorite setee or foam core bed. As the Guardian put it,

“Listening to Yaeji’s music is like having someone whisper in your ear in the middle of a crowded club”
